We advise that old fascias are removed generally speaking but if your old fascias are free from rot you can easily “cap” the existing fascia with a 10mm capping board explicitly intended for the job. This will always reduce the cost of materials and waste disposal and can be a perfectly appropriate solution which offers the same finish and durability as fascia replacement at a lower cost when installed correctly.
