We suggest that original fascias are discarded in most instances but if your old fascias are free from rot you might “cap” the existing fascia with a 10mm capping board explicitly manufactured for the job. This will decrease the cost of materials and waste disposal and can be a perfectly acceptable option providing the same finish and durability as fascia replacement at a lesser price when installed competently.
