We advise that original fascias are removed in most cases but if your old fascias are free from rot you might cap the existing fascia with a 10mm capping board explicitly produced for the job. This will always minimize the cost of materials and waste disposal and can be a perfectly suitable option delivering the same finish and durability as fascia replacement at a lesser cost when installed correctly.
